What is Social Proof?
Social proof is the psychological principle that people look at what others are doing to decide what's trustworthy or worth considering.
Why does it work?
When a situation is uncertain, other people's behaviour can become a useful cue. Reviews, recommendations and evidence of adoption can reduce perceived uncertainty and make a decision feel safer.
But credibility matters. Relevant, authentic proof is stronger than an unexplained large number. Fake reviews or misleading claims can damage trust.
